Mark Martino serves as an AgTech Advisor at BioGenerator. Mark has more than 30 years of experience in developing and leading global supply chain strategy and manufacturing operations.
Mark Martino was formally the Senior Vice President, Global Engineering for the Bayer Crop Science division. In this role, Mark was responsible for the strategic execution of key capital investments across the manufacturing, research and development, and commercial functions. In his prior role, Mark was the Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Management and Strategy based out of Monheim, Germany. He directed the global supply chain strategy for Bayer’s Crop Science Division after the Bayer acquisition of Monsanto. His primary focus was driving integration, digitalization, advancing customer service and manufacturing synergies across the supply chain to enable business growth.
Prior to joining Bayer through the Bayer-Monsanto acquisition, Mark was the Vice President for Monsanto’s Global Crop Protection Supply Chain Operations. Mark directed the global manufacturing strategy for Monsanto’s crop protection business. His primary goal in this position was to drive standardization, savings, and strategy across the manufacturing operations. Mark also led Monsanto’s end-to-end supply chain integration with Bayer during the pre-merger integration.
Previous leadership roles at Monsanto included Vice President, North America and Latin America North Supply Chain, Vice President, Global Seeds and Traits Manufacturing and Engineering, Director, Asia Pacific Manufacturing and Manufacturing Director for Selective Chemistry and Phosphorus. Mark began his career with Monsanto in 1990 as a process engineer at the Muscatine, Iowa site, where he advanced quickly based on increasing business acumen.
Mark graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, with an Executive MBA. Mark resides in St. Louis, Missouri.
